    • A sexual assault advocate is a trained staff member or volunteer who provides confidential, survivor-centered support to individuals impacted by sexual violence. Advocates are knowledgeable about medical, legal and community resources and are here to help you understand your options.

    • Our advocates walk along-side victim/survivors through medical care, law enforcement interviews, court proceedings, and the healing process. Above all, they listen with empathy, respect your choices, and support you every step of the way.

    • Advocacy services are available to anyone impacted by sexual violence-regardless of when the harm occurred-recently or in the past.

    • Advocates partner with healthcare providers, law enforcement, educators, social service agencies, and other professionals to ensure a trauma-informed, survivor-centered response to sexual violence.

    • We welcome walk-ins at our office when we have staff available.

    • It is important to know, you can contact our office anonymously if you choose.

    • Yes! While advocates are not attorneys and do not provide legal representation, we offer court advocacy and guidance throughout the legal process. We can help explain your rights, assist with paperwork such as Orders for Protection and Harassment Restraining Orders, and accompany you to court proceedings if you choose.

    • Yes, advocates can accompany you to medical exams, including forensic exams, to provide emotional support and information. We help you understand your options and ensure your voice is respected throughout the process.
